 Research Methods and Methodology: How am I going to approach these methods?  - Methodology is the approach and the method is how you find your information. we are aiming for a qualitative research by looking at peoples experiences.  - So we look to interviews and focus groups with open ended questions or shorter ones.  - We can also use observations to achieve this. you can give yourself a criteria and check list when doing an observation as it helps direct and keep the work specific.  - Ethnographic research is when you yourself is within the research. it will be helpful to look a research design. - Make sure your a tool in your research, you could keep a diary/reflections - Show understanding and consideration when you give a proposal.  Some ideas question to take as my project:   How do performers use storytelling to deepen their performances?   literature review  1 - Pick and develop literature on your topic  - research the question you are trying to answer, Use key words to look up these topics. great if the reserch is pier reviewed and acedmic.  2 - Evaluate and select sources - read the intro, read the conclusion, what are the key concepts mentioned, what topic is the suture talking about. agreeing and disagreeing with opinions put across in the research.  What question or problem is the author addressing? What are the key concepts and how are they defined? What are the key theories, models, and methods? Does the research use established frameworks or take an innovative approach? What are the results and conclusions of the study? How does the publication relate to other literature in the field? Does it confirm, add to, or challenge established knowledge?  looking to the second module:  --- = practical notes  - More ethics portal link - to book tutorials  - 14th session  Asking questions or doing something is a good way to approach your topic:  - Is there something to be explored, from a encounter that you have had? explore it for clarification.  - Choose something that you are fascinated by or choose something that effects you enough to concentrate on for 12 weeks or more.  - Examples of questions we can ask, eg, what aspect of my practice that I want to develop, is there something that has a particular technique/skill you want to have.
