Session 4
Tips to help us structure:
Here is what my practice taught me... this is the basis of our essay. How am I thinking, how am I learning, what can I take from this practice.
An outline of my essay:
1) Self motivated international training and what I have and can learn from it.
2) Storytelling through my various art forms how this affects me and my audience.
3) The social aspects of working in the industry and how this affects us as artist.
I chose to describe this in a drawing of myself. linking to a story of discovery, restriction and freedom within a specific part of my show.
The relationship between the essay and the artefact:
This is to demonstrate what your learning has been this dose not need to be directly linked to your practice. ie if your a dancer you do not have to do a choreography you can do a drawing etc.
Now adapting the drawing to a different means:
I feel like the drawing I did was bang on to cover all points but through a different medium I am seeing a image in head (as weird as that sounds) of a sculpture of the world with all of the elements it has in full force, like as Hamilton says "in the eye of a hurricane there is quiet". As I find the greatest moment often happen in the quiet ones amongst the madness of being an artist and I strongly feel this links and covers all the points I want to.
